Scottish Law - Please be aware of rules for Scotland

Firework Rules in Scotland

Scotland has different firework laws from the rest of the UK. The 2021 Regulations introduced two key restrictions for consumers buying F2 and F3 fireworks:

1. Maximum 5kg NEC per transaction

You can only sell up to 5kg Net Explosive Content (NEC) to a consumer at one time. NEC is printed on each firework or pack and shows the amount of explosive material inside.

2. Permitted sale & delivery hours: 07:00–18:00

Retailers can only sell or deliver adult fireworks to consumers in Scotland between 7am and 6pm. For online orders, this means the delivery must arrive within these hours.

Exemptions

Professional display companies are exempt from these restrictions.
